I recently updated lightroom desktop classic on my windows PC. Suddenly when I try to open a recent catalogue file, it says the file is corrupted. I tried this with several different backups. This just started following my recent update. TIA for any help.
Thanks.

Unzip a recent backup, copy the unzipped file to a different disk than the disk where your current catalog is stored. Does this catalog open from the different disk??

Hi Photobob - Have you clicked on the option to have Lightroom try to repair the catalog? If you've seen that option and have not clicked it give that a try. Also have you been making regular backups of your catalog when you quit Lightroom? If yes you should be able to unzip on of the backup files and open that. If the backup file opens without any issues you can then remove the corrupted catalog.

Great! Thanks for updating your post. A backup is only a backup if you've successfully restored a catalog from one. Glad to hear that you are back on track. You should be able to safely delete the corrupt file and replace it with the restored file.
