I just bought a gently used D850 last week and my lightroom classic v11.5 will not read the nef files from the camera. My other camera, a D500 with the same exact settings has nef files that will open in lightroom. I can't figure out anywhere why it would open one and not the other at this point seeing that both cameras have been out for a while now. Any ideas?
Please share more details. You may also share a NEF that does not work on your end using some file sharing service.

"Will not read" ... exactly, and in detail, explain what happens that makes you say "Will not read". If there is an error message, please quote the exact complete unedited word-for-word error message. Please also show us a screen capture by using the "Insert Photos" icon (do not attach files).
I ended up figuring it out. When my Adobe CC upgraded my Lightroom classic to v11.5 my system still had v6 on there as well after uninstalling the older version Lightroom read the files just fine. Must have been a glitch or something in the system.
