I recently updated my lightroom classic a couple days ago to the v13.5 and it worked fine that day (3 days ago) i went back in to work on my newest photography project and i have zero photos in lightroom. like, not even one. all of my folders are greyed out. i thought i would deal with it later and just re-import my newest work again and i cant import them because they are already imported but greyed out. i tried importing the most recent back up and i get error messages such as "not writable and could not be opened" or "could not locate" no files have been moved, no hard drives have been unplugged or located to a different drive. any help would be greatly appreciated. im using windows 11 if that matters.

You have probably (accidentally) created a new catalog or (accidentally) opened the wrong catalog file. Try finding the proper catalog file in your Windows Explorer and then double-click on it to open it.

i tried importing the most recent back up and i get error messages such as "not writable and could not be opened"

You have to unzip the backup first.

just re-import my newest work again and i cant import them because they are already imported but greyed out.

Re-Importing photos that are already imported into LrC's catalog is never the solution. Go to the Library Module, click on "All Photographs" and then search for one of these files by filename using the LrC Filter Bar.

thanks for the reply. i dont know how i would have "accidentally" created a new catolog, and yes, the file was unzipped before trying to open it. when in the library module under "all photographs" it shows 0 (zero)
