I've been using Lightroom Classic exclusively for years. In the past month, it stopped loading completely. When I try to open I get a brief pinwheel and and then "non-responsive application" force quit error message.
I'm using a 2023 Macbook Pro with 32gb of RAM. The Lightroom Classic version is 14.01. There were no updates/changes to my system that would have triggered an issue. After the problem started I updated the operating system to Sequoia thinking that might be causing the problem but no luck. I Lightroom Classic completely and re-installed, still no luck. Lightroom CC and Photoshop work fine. Any help would be appreciated.

When Lightroom Classic starts, it needs to load the catalog and its preferences, so those are the possible culprits. Uninstalling and reinstalling the application does not do anything with those two files. You could try resetting the preferences to see if that helps:

Another thing you could try is holding down the Cmd-key on startup. That should give you a dialog giving you the option to open a different catalog or create a new one. Create a new one to see if Lightroom Classic starts up successfully with that.

Thanks, i tried but it did not help me
i found an off-line (back-up) and older catalogue that enabled me to reestablish a full catalogue again with less work.
having no clue what caused the probem.
