i spent 2 hours with Adobe agent trying to fix and they just made things worse. They got to a point that Acrobat that i need for business wouldn't open either, changed my Library and set up a new root user. I had to go to another agent to get Acrobat going. Took him close to 2 hours but he did a great job.
But... separate tech teams so he couldn't get Lightroom going. Now i am travelling overseas and very nervous of letting Adobe support loose on my machine again.

The opening window with the guy dressed in the silvery suit shows for about 1 second at most, then the program crashes/ closes. Cheers.

I've moved your post from Creative Cloud Desktop to LRC where the Experts there will be more likely to assist.
What version of LRC do you have?

Do you get a crash dialog? There could be a number of reasons why LR is crashing.

No. there is no dialogue. the opening window just briefly flashes open on the screen and instantly closes and disappears.
The Acrobat Support guy totally removed all Adobe products from my computer using Adobe cleaning tools, then went and manually removed anything left behind. Then did a fresh install. He got Acrobat working, which after the LR technician had finished wasn't working either. But LR is still not working. PhotoShop is also working just fine. It is only LR that i have an issue with.
