Lightroom Classic Will Not Send Photos to Photoshop

16" MacBook Pro M1 Max, latest Sonoma, latest versions of LrC and Photoshop. Photoshop (Beta) previously installed, now deleted. Deleted and reinstalled PS and LrC, restarted, trashed preferences....

Any ideas as to why "Edit in Photoshop" opens Photoshop, but does not open the LrC photo?

In some cases, if the photo has been edited in LrC, it will open in PS if I specify Edit Original rather than Edit a Copy with Lightroom Adjustments. In other cases rhat dialogue does not appear, even if the photo has been edited in LrC. In all cases a photo will open if I select Open as Smart Object in Photoshop.

This is killing me, as I do a lot of focus stacking for macrophotography and having to open the photos one at a time, manually copying to layers, and rasterizing layers before aligning and combining is time-consuming.

Seems I have to give this answer several times a day: This is normally solved by uninstalling both Lightroom Classic and Photoshop, and then reinstalling Photoshop first and Lightroom Classic second.

I do not have this problem now but I did when I upgraded to 13.0. 13.01 was then not immediately available. When 13.01  was available I updated and the problem went away. Like you I use focus stacking so breathed a sigh of relief when the problem went away as I am not an IT expert
