Lightroom Crashes MacBook M1 prior Catelogs Do Not Resolve Issue

Lightroom Classic will not load. It either uses all system memory or crashes the MacBook. MacBook Pro maxed. memory and prossesor M1. System software is up today as is Lightroom.  Older and older catelogs do not resolve problem.

We’ve reviewed the email address you use with this forum and find no crash reports in our system.

 

Did you see a crash dialog?

Do you use a different email address when filling out the crash report?

Was the crash dialog Adobe’s?Apple’s?

 

The symptoms you describe point to a bad install. 

 

Clean Lightroom Renstall Procedure

  • Close Lightroom
  • Restart the computer
  • Use the Adobe Creative Cloud App to uninstall Lightroom
  • Restart the computer
  • Install Lightroom via the Creative Cloud App without launching any other programs.
  • Restart the computer
  • Launch Lightroom
  • Wait 5 minutes

 

If this doesn't cure the issue then respond with system details including OS version number, Lightroom version number and system specs.
