Lightroom Crashing

Everytime I go to open Lightroom it will load the main screen and i can see all my catalogs, the grey boxes before the images load but before the images can load lightroom crashes and ejects my hardrive? I have restarted my computer and my lightroom just updated this morning?

Please clarify the above. Does Lightroom crash or does your computer crash?

Also, please clarify if you are using Lightroom (Lr icon) or Lightroom Classic (LrC icon), and tell us the version NUMBER. Words like "latest" or "just updated this morning" are not sufficient, we need the version NUMBER.

Lightroom crashes. I am using Lightroom classic (13.5)

At that point, or just before it, what LrC screen.module are you in. It sounds like the Import screen.

What type of hard drive is this? Internal (I doubt) External, or (and this is just a wild guess) a flash media like an SD card or a thumb drive?

I am now getting this mesaage? Can anyone give me further details of what may have caused this? Lightroom would fully open and go to all my photos as if I was going to edit but instead of showing my photos it would just show the grey boxes that are behind each photo if that makes sense? And within a couple of seconds it would crash. I am using an external hardrive (Seagate external hard drive)
