Lightroom Masken Aktualisierung

New Here ,
Nov 29, 2025 Nov 29, 2025

Hey guys,

so I'm working with Lightroom classic. I synced a bunch of pictures while editing and had to manually refresh all the masks. While editing Lightroom updated the catalogue so I started in one and continued in a new one but never closed the app. So after refreshing I saw the masks again and I did that for about 1000 pictures manually. When I wanted to export the pictures all the refreshments were gone and I would have had to refresh all over again.

Did anybody experience something similar or has any idea how to get the masks to be refreshed and the way I want them?
I tried so many different ways to fix it with chat gpt like combining the catalogs or batch refresh ai masks.
I'm really just frustrated now..

I synced a bunch of pictures while editing and had to manually refresh all the masks.

This is not clear to me. There are many "sync" functions in LrC. Which are you referring to? How do you perform this sync? Please tell us the exact step-by-step process.

While editing Lightroom updated the catalogue so I started in one and continued in a new one but never closed the app.

This doesn't sound right, LrC never upgrades a catalog with an existing session of LrC open. It simply doesn't work that way, and furthermore no one else has ever reported such a thing. What did you see on your screen that indicates to you that it upgraded the catalog?

So after refreshing I saw the masks again and I did that for about 1000 pictures manually. When I wanted to export the pictures all the refreshments were gone and I would have had to refresh all over again.

When you exported, was this in a new session of LrC? Did you close LrC and come back later to export?

Given what you have said, I cannot think of an explanation that covers all of the statements you made. I am suspicious that this all happened in the same LrC session. In my opinion, the "most likely" explanation is that you have accidentally been using two catalogs without realizing it. Yes, that does happen, see here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/all-my-lrc-edits-seem-to-have-disappear...

At least three other people have reported that edits don't appear in the Library module, which is slightly different than what you are claiming, but close enough that I provide the link: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/edits-in-the-develp-module-not-being-sh... However, I am not aware of a solution being found.

Hey thanks for your answer.
so for sync I usually take a couple pictures that are the same situation and use the synchronization button in the development mode. I then tick all the boxes I want to sync and press start.
I believe that I can't remember if it closed I was pretty sure it didn't but maybe I didn't realize it..

I had 2 catalogs later so it must've created a new one.
I exported in the same and didn't close the app.
It's possible I missed that. The thing I just don't understand is why when I manually refresh the masks that later the refreshment is gone.
Is there any way to get the masks to all be refreshed at once. I already tried the batch ai masks tool in photo-Development settings

Once again, I suspect the edits are in one catalog, and then you (accidentally?) open the other catalog, the edits are not supposed to be there. That could explain what you are seeing.

Please search all folders on your computer and all folders on all external drives, using your operating system's search feature*, for files whose name ends with .LRCAT. How many of these do you find? What are the modification dates for these .LRCAT files that you find? What are the sizes of these .LRCAT files? If you find two catalogs with similar modification dates, that's a clue. If the files are roughly equally large that's another clue, although its possible that the two catalogs of interest may not have rougly equal sizes. Let us know what you find.

On the other hand, you may not find anything of the sort. But do let us know what you find.

* -- in other words, I am not asking you to do eyeball searching by opening a few folders to see what is in there. That is not the search I am asking for.

Thanks again for your quick answer. I did some more research today and found out it's most likely a damaged catalogue. I started a new one and imported the old edits except for the masks and now it works although I still have to do all the masks all over again it's probably the only solution.
