Hi there,
I have a question about Metadata in Lightroom Classic - I believe I've encountered a bug, but I may just not understand it correctly - Copying meta-data from one image to a duplicate image does not seem to copy any meta-data other than capture date and time, despite "Check All" being selected in the copy step.
I've captured a short 2 minute video to demonstrate the specific issue im facing with Metadata in Lightroom.
How can I copy over all the metadata from the original file to its duplicate?

There is no bug here, just a limitation. Lightroom cannot copy/paste EXIF metadata, only added metadata.

Thanks for the reply! Sucks that its a limitation.
Is there any workaround I can attempt?

The problem lies with Luminar Neo. Can you use that as a Photoshop plugin rather than stand alone? If it runs as a Photoshop plugin, then it is unlikely that it will strip the metadata from the final image, because in that case there won't be a new tiff that overwrites the existing one.

I believe the way I am using it is as a plugin, which unfortunately comes with the Luminar specific bug I mentioned. Once that gets ironed out, my issue will be much less prevalent, but I'd still be keen to understand or learn a bit more about Lightrooms limitations around such Metadata copying.

I am talking about using it as a Photoshop plugin, not a Lightroom plugin (which is basically a stand-alone application, launched from Lightroom). It would mean that you open the image from Lightroom in Photoshop, and then use Luminar Neo from Photoshop. I'm not sure if that is possible, however.
