Lightroom not starting after closing

Since a few days i have a strange phenomena with LR 11.4 : after i close it i cannot start it again. When i look in Task Manager i see a background process Adobe Lightroom. Ending that task solves my problem. But why is this background process there ?

I've had that happen on various Adobe apps at times.  Eventually it stopped happening on its own.
