Lightroom running after shutdown

New Here ,
Apr 13, 2023 Apr 13, 2023

So, I'm a relative noob to using Lightroom, though I've used photoshop (the tip of the iceberg of it's capabilities at least) for years, and I'm quite computer literate.

Roughly 10 minutes ago, I shutdown LR Classic (latest and greatest version, as downloaded by CC), and I noticed that my system fan was still running pretty fast, so I checked what was chewing up the CPU...  ANd it's Lightroom!

The app is gone from my taskbar, it's not there if I try to alt-tab to it, CC is not running, and it doesn't appear to be locked up, because the amount of CPU it's using is fluctuating (it's around 25% of an OCed i5-10600K), and I hate to shut it down, but I need to reboot my system!

Other than my browser & task mgr, everything but background processes are shutdown, if it is relevant, the LR process is showing as a background process, and not an app.

My catalog and all of that auto-sync to Onedrive, and I confirmed that was done properly after I shut it down, so I think that will be fine, but otherwise...

I'm at a loss!

Any thoughts or ideas?

Kev

There are a number of reports regarding the behaviour you're reporting. The issue appears to be only occurring on Windows system. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of fix or workaround at present. That being said, it would be helpful if you uploaded a screenshot of Task Manager showing the errant LrC process.

It would also be helpful if you could provide a copy of your 'Systerm Info'. This can be obtained from the LrC Help > System Info menu.

If it happens again, I will.  It turns out that after I posted this, I fell asleep (I'm disabled, and unexpected naps are part of the fun part!)* and even after about 2 hours, it was still running!  I rebooted, and have not had any subequent issues, that I've noticed at least.  Thank you!

Oh, and to confirm, yes, I'm a winders guy...

The asterisk in my prior post was meant to note the sarcasm in the preceeding statement LOL...
