Are you confusing the mask overlay with mask edits?

Hello, thanks for your reply, to be accurate, I start the modification usin' the mask button (pencil etc...),  I realise all of my stuff, saved my mask details but nothing happen on the original picture while i quit the mask edit. So I might 'confusing something for sure!

Maybe this will provide some guidance-

https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/p-fyi-masking-does-not-save-the-overlay...

And, as is the 'nature' of Lightroom,- Original files are not altered- ever! Editing changes will be applied to any derivative file when you 'Export' the image you have editied.

Regards. My System: Lightroom-Classic 13.2 Photoshop 25.5, ACR 16.2, Lightroom 7.2, Lr-iOS 9.0.1, Bridge 14.0.2, Windows-11.
