Go to the Nvidia website and make sure you have the latest GPU driver on your system.

If there is a "Studio" driver use that in preference to "Gaming"

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs

Try resetting your Lightroom preferences:
https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/setting-preferences-lightroom.html
Also see: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/important-steps-for-manually-resetting-...

Quit Lightroom Classic.
MacOS: Press and hold the Shift + Option keys.
Windows: Press and hold the Shift + Alt keys.
While holding down the keys, launch Lightroom Classic.
When asked, select "Yes".

If that doesn't work, indeed, look into disabling GPU in preferences.

GPU-info:

DirectX: NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 (30.0.15.1215)

So GPU driver version 512.15 (released 03/22/2022)

At NVIDIA v516.94 is current (released 09/08/2022)

You might try updating your GPU driver, see if that helps.

Versie: 10.0.19043

Winsows 10, build 19043

So actualy v21H1

Any reason you have not updated to v21H2? That would be build 19044, from the November 2021 update.

Schermen: 1) 1920x1080

As you are not using 4K and beyond, the preferences option to use graphics processor might be of little or no help.

GPU-info:

DirectX: NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 (30.0.15.1215)

And that GPU is very old, release date 05/17/2017. That is old enough that turning graphics processor on could actually hurt performance in LrC.

Does the preference setting state this GPU is supported? Set to automatic? Or forced?

If on, try off

Optimizing the catalog tells Lightroom to examine the data structure of the catalog and make sure that it is both correct and succinct.

It’s unlikely that your catalog is what’s causing the crashes, but if it is, this should take care of it. It will also ensure that your catalog continues to operate smoothly once you get Lightroom up and running again.

To optimize the catalog, go to the File menu > Optimize Catalog and give it a moment to do its thing.

Once it’s completed reboot Lightroom and see if the crashing continues.

J Wick

Update of Nvidia GPU driver and most recent Windows update solved the problem for the moment.
