Lightroom will not recognized photos for Upload ver 11.3.1

I am runningLightroom CC 11.3.1 with Camera raw 14.3 on a Macbookpro laptop running Big Sur 11.6.5.  I created a Lightroom catalog on an externalScandisk 4tb drive and used a Sony XQD card reader from a Nikon D 5 Camera.  Ligthroom will recognize the Nikon file on the card but will not display the photos fro Upload.  I tried to copy the files to a desktop folder with no luck.  

 

What is weird is Lightroom worked the first day of our trip but hten stopped working .  I signed in and out of our account.  I had to download Photo Mechanic to finish the trip! 

 

Beyond frustrated.   How do I fix this?

I've noticed that LR Classic doesn't display the thumbnails for import until you select the destination folder. Usually all it takes is to just expand the destination tab on the right side panel, and then the thumbnails appear.

Hi and a big Thank you!  I can not beleive that was such simple thing.  Never even thought about it.  Now I have three weeks of photos from a trip to Madagascar to upload.
