Lightroom won't stop copying every 5 minutes

How do I stop Lightroom from trying to copy every 5 minutes?  Here's a screen capture to show what it's trying to do.  It's driving me crazy.  How can I stop it?

I wonder if one of those drives on the left side of your screen is an external drive or card reader with a loose connection that keeps breaking connection and then when it reconnects it triggers the "import" screen that is showing there?

And turn 'off' (uncheck) this option on the General tab of Preferences-
