Live tether window missing Nikon Z8

Community Beginner ,
Nov 11, 2023 Nov 11, 2023

The Nikon Z8 is recently compatible with Live View tether on Lightroom Classic.

I can get the camera to tether and the live view tool bar is on the screen, but the actual screen showing a  live view is not there.

Have updated program, turned camera off and on, shortened usb cord, added a memory card and worked through trouble shooting list, but still no 'live view.'

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm having the same issue.  It works on the Windows version, not Mac.  Did you get it figured out?

Update:
Adobe care messaged me back. They told be to update the operating system for Mac. A blank grey live view screen is now appearing for a few seconds, so we are getting closer. I have updated Adobe Care on Twitter so hopefully they can sort this out.

Thanks,

Kate

I am having the same issue.  I made sure everything was updated... computer, camera, Lightroom.  I followed all the prompts on tethering troubleshooting.  I am able to get it to tether to LR (although it disconnects pretty easily) but I cannot get Live View to work- it pulls up a blank gray screen and then it goes away.

Thanks,

I talked to someone at Adobe.  Lightroom Classic does not support the Z8 in live view...yet.  They said they are working on it and it will probably be supported in the next LR update.  But who knows?  If you need software to tether with and use live view I suggest Capture One- it's a breeze to tether with and live view works.  (Editing- eh, not my favorite... but  you can easily export-import into LR.)
