LrC 14.4 wont opne for me on Mac OS 15.5. It tries to open and then immeidiately closes. I've spent  over 6 hours with Adobe on the screen and so far

Opened LrC with Option>LrC and Option>Command>Shift>LRC t try and change catalogs

Installed earlier version of LrC

Clean up of all Adobe Preferences

Uninstall and reinstall of Adobe Creative Cloud (x3)

Used Adobe Cleaner Tool (x2)

Opened from Finder

Opened from catalog

I have an appointment later today with a senior techcician. Wish me luck

Do you have try Lightroom with an new catalog? It can be that your recent catalog is faulty. Hold the Ctrl-Key while starting LrC. This opens a catalog selection dialog.

Create a new catalog and see if this catalog works. If yes, you could then try to import your current catalog into the new one. You can also try in a first step to check the integrity of your catalog – note the checkmark "Test integrity of this catalog" to check its integrity.

Thanks. I was hoping to that but Ctrl-Key on Mac does not do anything. I tried Ctrl+Command+Option and starting LrC to try and star a new catalog. It opens two options: "Reset Preferences" and "Start Normally". Either one and LrC still won't open.

Thanks...I can't even get that far...it gives no message. Just tries to launch and then stops trying to launch

Agreeing with @AxelMatt that a possible cause is a faulty catalog file. Can you unzip a recent backup of your catalog file and see if that opens? (unzip it to a brand new folder, and then double-click on the unzipped catalog file to open it)

Thanks. I tried that. And I went back from before latest LrC update. No joy. Icon bounces for a while, quck flash of the Adobe LrC logo, credits etc...then nothing. I have a session coming up with a "senior tech". Will let you know what happens. Appreciate the help.

One other thought is to move or rename the existing catalog file, so when you launch LrC, it thinks there is no existing catalog to open. At least that way, you might get the program to launch and then this will (possibly) help diagnose what the problem is.

Just tried it. Moved and renamed. What about all my LrC settings? Should I delete those? Like I was a first time user?

The whole point was to see if LrC would launch, not that you could go ahead and do useful things in a blank catalog. If it does launch, then we can move on to what to do next.

Another thought: create a new user profile in your MacOS, and then see if LrC will launch from the new user profile.
