I have a problem with the photos that I have imported. I modified 167 photos of the 899 that I have imported. I closed down for the night and the next morning when I tried to continue my corrections to the photos Lightroom shows the folder, but says there are no photos in the folder or previous import. The photos show up in explorer, but not LR. Does anyone have an idea how to get the photos to show up in LR? The files are RAW format.

Do you have more than one Lightroom Classic catalog? This sounds like you are possibly opening an earlier catalog. Was the folder you are referring to an already existing folder before the import you are talking about?

No, I have one catalog per year on one external hard drive per year for the photos. I have been able to get the catalog to repair itself, but now the folder shows almost 900 photos and the filmstrip at the bottom shows 750 images. So now I have to see where those 150 images are.

Thanks for your reply.

You have (accidentally?) imported the photos using COPY instead of ADD. The photos are in Lightroom Classic, but not where you think they are. YOu need to search the LrC catalog by follow all four of these steps, in order.

1. In the Lightroom Classic Library Module, on the left, under Catalog, click on All Photographs
2. Turn off all filters (Ctrl-L once or twice)
3. Turn off all stacking (Photo->Stacking->Expand All Stacks)
4. Search for at least one of these photos by file name using the Lightroom Classic Filter Bar

Here is what happened. After shooting a high school baseball game I import the images from my flash drive into LR and my external hard drive as I always do by copying and renaming them. I then started processing them and got about 170 of them done before retiring for the night. The next day LR showed the images in my folder as shown in the screenshot above, but stated there were no images in the folder or previos import. I tried different things with no success and decided to copy the images to another hard drive to be safe. I went back to LR and tried to copy the images from my backup hard drive with no success. I tried opening a backup catalog but got the message that the catalog was corrupt and needed to be repaired. After it was repaired 750 images showed up in LR. I then imported the other images from my backup hard drive and everything is working normally again. Thanks for the suggestions.
