Lost radial gradient outoline.

I've been doing some editing of some photos using masks and stuff. Now all of a sudden when I use the radial gradiant tool. I am unable to draw an outline. What have I done to disable that?

Rob - Thanks for the reply. When I choose a radial gradient I am unable to draw one with my mouse as usual. I've tried hitting the h key and nothing. Tried with the o key and nothing. What did I disable to loose the ability to draw the outline and be able to make adjustments to it's size and shape before making adjustments? Is this a " feature " of mask?
