Lost subfolder in catalogue

I have a catalogue with subfolders for each year (only 4 at present and not many in them). I was asked to do a upgrade which I did to v13. On opening my catalogue my subfolder for 2023 has disappeared.
The photos I have edited are in the backup folder and in the previous version.  My question is how do I restore the v13 catalogue to get the subfolder 2023 with my backups or the old catalogue version 12 back into the current upgrade v13.
I did try upgrading again but a new version was created into my downloads folder.

Any help please.

Hi Anna,

I've moved your post from Using the Community (for questions about the forums) to Lightroom Classic for you.

Lightroom Classic probably opened and upgraded an old catalog rather than the current one. You need to find the correct catalog yourself and open it in Lightroom Classic by double clicking on it.

Just to add to this: when upgrading an older version Catalog as a new copy there is the opportunity to control where this new Catalog copy should be located, and what it should be named. By default it's alongside the source Catalog which has been used, and named the same apart from the appropriate new version number at the end of the filename.

If your v13 Catalog upgrade (from the appropriate v12 Catalog) had however somehow got created within your Downloads folder you would have the option to move that Catalog somewhere else using Finder / Explorer (while LrC does not have it open, obviously).

Changing the specific folder location / filename for a Catalog is not especially material - and does not impact the addressing info held within that Catalog, for the image files that are imported.
