LR 10.4 locking up whole Windows system!

LR C 10.4 has gotten to where when it locks up when generating Merged photos or that sort of thing sometimes now it even stops the keyboard for getting any response (Such as Ctrl-Alt-DEL!) or responding to my mouse moving.  I can't use the Alt-TAB key combo to switch to any other running program (Such as Task-Manager which MIGHT allow me to at least shut LR down). This keeps me from safely shutting down my system and saving all intact work.  I am left with no choice but after several hours just having to start holding the power button down for a few seconds and then reboot the Win 10 system up again.  Here is a view of the screen showing what I am talking about.  I am getting tired of "renting" software such as this once a month.

Please do the menu command Help > System Info and copy/paste here the top lines up through "Installed Plugins". That will tell us the relevant system specs.

Your symptoms sound like LR is using up all of memory -- operating systems often don't handle that very gracefully.

Adobe says the minimum required memory is 8 GB, "recommended" is 16 GB.  Your 12 GB is pushing it, I think.

After rebooting, will the computer lock up if you immediately do a merge, or do you have to use LR for a number of hours before it locks up?
