LR Classic 6.14 / OSX Monterey

does LR Classic 6.x not work with OSX Monterey anymore? 

I can not start the (officially bought and registered) installed application.

There have been a number of reports in the last couple months about LR 6.14 not starting, on both Mac and Windows.  I haven't seen a definitive solution, though there might be one. 

Note that you won't be able to reinstall 6.14 on Mac OS 10.15, 11, or 12, since the installer is a 32-bit program, which Apple no longer supports.  So don't try reinstalling.
