Lr Classic connections to Amazon AWS

I was running Lr Classic this evening and just happened to have Windows Resource Monitor up and running - I was surprised to see a number of connections to Amazon AWS servers.  It wasn't just one, it was 5 or 6 initially.  Eventually the connections dropped to 1, but it appears Lr maintains a connection to AWS while running.

I wondered if anyone knew why these were there?   I have some ideas, but was hoping someone knew the answer.
