Lr Classic running slow

I'm experiencing a very slow performance with Lr after updating the version I've been using October.

I'm running the last version available of Lr Classic

I have a

Mac Book Pro 2019

2,8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core,

16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3 i7,

with last MacOs: Sonoma

+ Even I've bulit 1:1 preview of the image I'm working on, in Develope mode, and despite this, the image is randomly shown in low resolution unless I zoom in and zoom out to make it be shown in 1:1

Lr Camera Raw cache preferences is set in 60GB and I have 77GB free space oin the hard drive disk.

Original files are inside the computer hard drive so that should not be the problem.

I'm really dissppointed and I'd like to believe it can run better with my equipment.

Any help?

Thanks a lot in advanced.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

What actions are slow in LrC? You don't tell us; so please tell us.

Previews have nothing to do with what happens in the Develop Module.

Please provide your system info, from Help->System Info (down to the GPU information, we don't need anything after that)

and I have 77GB free space oin the hard drive disk.

Assuming that hard drive is where your catalog is kept, how much free space in percent (yes %) is that? 77 GB does not sound like much. Heck your Camera RAW CACHE all by itself is about to eat that up. (and no, 60 GB for CACHE is not unreasonable at all) Looking for 20, some say 25% free space.

Hi Goldin,

I have 78GB from a 1 TB hard drive.

Should I have 250Gb free space?

Note that I asked for % and I meant %, But, you gave total, so I can figure out the %

So 76GB, equal (decimal) 0.076 TB.  So for a 1 TB drive, way way less than 20% free. I am surprised that LrC will open at all.

Hmm, no longer using a MAC, but in the back of my head. Are you sure the 76GB is the correct partition, not the system partition? 76 GB is way way too small for the user partition, unless that is the System Partition that (I think) is basically a 90 GB partition (and contains only the OS)

Do you have another hard drive, internal or external?

Do you have lots of unused or outdated applications to remove?
