LR Classic slow rejectecting photos

Hi,

LR13.4, Macos Sonoma 14.5.

Tried a lot (reinstall, fallback, new catalog, purging cache, deleting previews...), using a new catalog now, but the probelm persists: when I press X to reject a photo, it takes time for LR to apply a reject, sometimes few seconds, sometimes more.

Anybody have an advice what to do?

Without knowing your hardware specs, nobody can tell you if that is slow or as expected for your computer.

  1. If after starting LrC, you select the import button, is that initially slow as well? Perhaps something like 15 seconds instead of less than one
  2. And if after waiting for the import button to finish opening, then close it, then restart it, does it then behave?
  3. And if after going thru that convoluted process, does the Reject Photos start to behave?

Hi,

1- No- but maybe sometimes.

Here is the development:

I am now using a third,  new catalog (the original one and the one just for new work since I need it to work)-and it works with no problems whatsoever.

This was the same with the second one, it worked with recent material, but when I import everything from the old catalog, after some time, it behaves as the original one...

Tried lots of things and came to conclusion that its the corrupted files in the catalog.

My plan is to continue working like this- material is coming all the time-but I need a fix to save my old collectons.
