LR Classic update annoyance

My LR Classic updated today. And destroyed all my carefully setup Preferences for viewing, file handling and so on. GRRR!!  Is there a way to save my preferences?

Exit LR. Restore from your backups an older version of the file "C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences\Lightroom Classic CC 7 Preferences.agprefs". Start LR.

Thank you, will do next time but it shouldn't happen or at least that procedure should be built-in to the update.

LR updates usually do preserve your previous preferences.  I don't recall previous reports of preferences not getting preserved, so I think yours is a rare occurrence.
