Lightroom Classic will not start - trying to launch from Creative Cloud results in icon appearing in dock and a dot appearing under it for a second and then dissapearing.
I was running the last version of stand alone LR (6) and upgraded OS system and found that LR would open after I upgraded OS 10.15 to but would then crash after a few minutes. Looking online it appeared that it was not compatable 10.15 so I bit the bullet and signed up for CC with LR.
After downloading CC and LR and LR Classic I was able to open Lightroom but not Lightroom Classic. I then updated to OS 11.6 and tried again with no change. I have also signed in and out of CC.
Currently running OS 11.6 on an older Macbook Pro (mid-2014). CC tells me LR Classic is up to date.
Lightroom (not classic) opens fine.
Any suggestions on what to try?

First, make sure you update to 11.0.1 which was released last night.
Next reset your preference file: This procedure works for both Lightroom Classic and Lightroom Desktop.
If you are using Lightroom Desktop it can change the location of your local storage. Please review this setting after resetting preferences.
Reset Procedure:
1. Close Lightroom.
2. Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.
3. Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.
4. Close Lightroom.
5. Restart Lightroom.
Will Lightroom Classic open now?
