LR exporting denoise dng as separate jpg

Hi all-

First time posting here and I have to admit I don't know that I have the vocabulary exactly right so I'm hoping you can figure out what I'm getting at. I photographed a wedding in a very dark room at a high ISO. I applied the AI denoise in LR classic to about 300 photos. I've used this feature plenty of times and after it runs it always tells me I have more images in the catalog because it's counting the dng files created. However, when I go to select and export my images it tells me that I have the same number that I had before the dngs were created and exports the correct number of images. I just exported a full wedding and even though I had 800 images to start, I applied the denoise to about 300 and now it just exported 1100 jpgs instead of 800. It's exporting the file without the dng and with the dng (I think). Does this mean the dng isn't stacked in LR? This hasn't happened before and I'm not sure what changed. How do I fix this?

No, it does not necessarily mean that the DNG's are not stacked. They could still be stacked, but with the stack expanded. If you select all images while the stacks are expanded, then you'll select all 1100 images. The option to stack is in the Denoise dialog, so maybe you unchecked that option?

It looks like I have the option to stack selected. My goal here is to only export the 800. If the stacks are expanding how do I collapse/flatten the stacks?
