it's become unusable for me, it normally will crash or stop completely now, not just the normal slowness, they need to figure this out ASAP

My computer is about 5 years old but taken care of well. I have a new canon r5 so the only thing I can think of is my computer is considered ancient to how big the new files are.

My computer is just a few months old with 128gb of ram.. I don't think it's a hardware issue.

Right, I just bought a brand new i9 laptop thinking my old i7 was the issue, now it works even worse.

Found my issue . It was my gpu. Lr has a benchmark chart and you can check it. Lr needs a 2000 or greater to perform correctly and my laptop is 1004.

Espero tengas suerte.

Mine has 16gb of ram. I spend 30 with adobe chat and found out it is my laptop. The gpu. Processor too slow. There’s a benchmark chat you can find and see what your number is. LR needs a score of 2000 to be ran and mine was 1004.

I have 195 gb free on my laptop
  • Is that the free space on the hard drive your catalog is in?
  • How large is the catalog and the library  previews.
  • How large is that hard drive

Usually LrC wants at least 20% free, some say 25% free, less and LrC performance takes a hit.

How do find how much of LR space I’m taking up. I cleared out my Catalog and have less than 200 pictures. Does it also matter what package and space I have with my adobe plan ? I have a 20g plan.

I do everything on my laptop I don’t use external drives for LR

On the Windows computer, use the Windows File Explorer. Navigate to the hard drive the catalog is in, right click, select propertied. and you can see how large the drive is, and how much space is in use, then simple math tells you what % remains
