Just experienced the slideshow export "freeze" issue with LRC 10.2 on macOS Catalina.
Last week generated one and it was OK.
Today, it would not work. Progress bar stopped a couple of mm in About under the x in Export. Didn't move.
Followed a workaround where you export the images to a new catalog and regenerate the slide show. Needed to quit but that so far is the only way it works.
Found no difference if the size of the slide show was changed. It still froze and did not produce a file.

When Lightroom Classic freezes, first thing to try is resetting your preferences.

Thanks for the suggestion. Good to see where all those preferences are stored and that you can have per catalog preferences.
Since it worked correctly when the same images were exported out to a new catalog and the preferences file is independent of the catalog, I would presume now that it isn't preferences related.
Also, I should have described the problem as a slide show export process stall rather than "freeze" since that might imply that the whole user interface froze and was unusable - LRC could still be used whilst the background slide show video export process executed (but stalled).

You might take a look at this old thread and see if it helps:

The second suggestion was the inspiration to export out as a new catalog.
