LRC, 13.5, ACR 16.5, on Windows 10, eats all memory, 32GB, on open.

I thought it was connected to AI remove, but now I open LRC, and can watch the memory tick up til it's gone.

Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll need more information to help you figure this out. Please share the system information from Lightroom Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > Upload and attach here.

Where do you keep your Lightroom catalog? On an internal or external drive? Do you have a recent catalog backup?

Are there any files currently syncing to the cloud?

As primary steps, try this:

  • Unplug additional displays & use only one by default.
  • If the catalog is on an external drive, temporarily create a new catalog at a location on the internal drive from File > New Catalog.
  • Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance > Disable 'Generate Previews in parallel' & restart Lightroom Classic.

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

@Sameer K

Thanks for the quick response.

  1. system info attached
  2. catalog is on the internal SSD, me\desktop
  3. I do have a recent backup, 8/20 or 8/21
  4. there were pics syncing; I paused syncing and memory usage continue to max
  5. new catalog, no parallel preview, restarted
  6. Empty catalog, memory stable
  7. Import 61 pics from camera (Nikon Z6ii) -- LRC memory at about 2.6GB and stable

What have we learned?

Thanks.

Hemos aprendido que estamos trabajando como depuradores para Adobe, pero pagandoles encima.

What have we learned? -> We are debuggers for Adobe and indeed qe pay for that.

Al menos a tí te han contestado. Yo reporté un error identico al tuyo hace 6 horas y nadie me ha respondido aún.

Perhaps because my native languaje is not english.

At least they have answered you. I reported an error identical to yours 6 hours ago and no one has responded yet.

Lamento que no hayan respondido. Esperemos que tengan una solución, a pesar de todo. (Gracias Traductor de Google)

I am having the same exact issue. Catalog on internal SSD. Not sure if it started with the 13.5 upgrade or not. LrC is at the point where I can't use it when my 32 Gb memory is all consumed.

WIll downgrading to 13.4 help?

Dave

I paused Sync and it appear better. So far no memor consuming. Currently editing a shoot with a few hundred images. I did have some sync errors so not sure if that was related. The sync errors appeared from older files.

LATEST

@Sameer K

This is still happening, latest on my Windows desktop with 40Gb memory.

All the memory gets consumed and LRC becomes so sluggish that it's almost impossible to use.

Info: Latest LRC version, existing catalog with about 90k images.

It doesn't happen with a new, empty catalog, but what good is that?

What is the workaround? What version of LRC will fix this?
