LRC 15.0.1 Crop Tool fails to work

New Here ,
Nov 17, 2025 Nov 17, 2025

Hi Guys

Since updating to LRC 15.0.1 if I attempt to crop an image having set the crop lines, when I click on the crop icon to carry out the edit, the crop lines disappear without performing the crop as if I had cancelled the edit. Settings are the same as I've used for the last 5 years:

Aspect, Custom

Unlocked

Constrain to image

Images are usually Canon CR2 but I have also tried converting to .dng without any improvement. Any guesses where I'm going wrong please.

Paul

Hi, thanks for reaching out!

I'm not able to reproduce this behavior. You can try to reset the preferences of Lightroom using the steps mentioned here: https://adobe.ly/4r4GenN

If you still continue to observe the same behavior, go to the Help menu in Lightroom Classic, then System Info, and copy the text. You can share the info with us by either pasting it as a reply here or in a text file and sharing the file with us.

Thanks,
Nikunj

And miraculously it now works. Went to Lens Corrections and enabled Profile Corrections, which were not enabled as standard after the upgrade. I would suggest that should be included in the next upgrade / bug fix as the Crop Tool doesn't work without it.

Hi Nikunj

Prefernce replacement seems to have done the trick, my belief that enabling Lens Corrections having solved the problem was a little premature. I've got 4 active catalogues at the moment so I'll see if this is a permanent fix once I move on to the next one.

Thanks for your help.

This still does not work for me (LRC 15.01) even with profile correction enabled. The image does not crop to the bounding box and instead crops to the outer (shaded) region that automatically zooms in during cropping to fit the bounding box. This cropping bug still allows for cropping, but is unpredictable and required guess and check.

I also want to make sure that the bug fix retains existing crops (made with the 15.0.1 bug) and does not re-crop images. Reverting any crops made in 15.0.1 to the light crop bounding box would mess up these edits.

Thanks

Hi @coryp28573837, welcome to the community!
Could you share a quick screen recording of the issue so we can take a closer look? It would also help to have your System Info. You can find it in Lightroom Classic under Help > System Info. Just copy it into a text file and attach it to your reply, or share it via Google Drive, WeTransfer, or any file-sharing service you prefer.
Thanks so much!
Alek

Hi @coryp28573837, thanks so much for sharing the video and your System Info!
It looks like the GPU is showing as disconnected in the report. Could you please check under Edit > Preferences > Performance and make sure Use Graphics Processor is set to Auto or Custom?
Thanks!

For some reason GPU acceleration became disabled and the option to enable it was grayed out. After restarting my computer, the acceleration option is no longer grayed out. I enabled it and crop seems to be working again! Thanks for the help!
