When my L:rC crashes as usual, I cannot reopen as it says the Catalogue is already open (but no other Adobe programmes are running) so I cananot open unles I ghenerateyet another catalogue.
Aside foirm re-booting the pc, how do I reopen LrC using the initla catalogue?
Check the location of your catalog and look for a file with the ending lrcat.lock (something like: Lightroom Catalog-v10.lrcat.lock).
While LR is closed, delete this file and try again.
When Lightroom is running, a lock file prevents other users from accessing the catalog. The lock file is normally deleted when you close LR.
If LR crashes, or doesn't shut down properly, the lock file may not be deleted, and you will get the error message you mention.
You have to delete the lock file manually, so with the File explorer, go to the folder that contains the catalog.
Delete the file that ends with .lock. Do not delete anything else. Now launch Lightroom.
If Lightroom crashes a lot,

Thanks, yes there were lock files for each catalogue. I deleted them, opened LrC but it crashed, saying it was having problems syncing with the catalogue??
Still crashing.
