LRC > PS > LRC .... PS will not save back to LRC

New Here ,

Let me state first off that I am working on Windows, not Mac.

PS 25.1 LRC 13.01

I have had the same workflow for a while now where I edit in LRC then move my photos to PS (ctrl e) to remove items, add portraiture etc and then I save back to LRC (ctrl s). It has worked for me this way untill last sunday when I was in the middle of editing a collection and all of a sudden PS would not let me save back to LRC.

The Box that pops up says "could note save as 1K0A8118-EDIT.tif" and nothing else.

I cannot get photo shop to save the photo any where other than onto my computer as a PS edit only accessible by opening it in PS. Definently wont help me in getting the photo to my client.

I have uninstalled PS and reinstalled. Didnt fix the problem.

I uninstalled both LRC and PS together and reinstalled together. It updated my LRC but still did not fix the problem.

I uninstalled PS again this morning and reinstalled hoping it just needed one more time and nothing changed.

All the the preferences seem to look right. IDK what to do. I just want to finish this collection using the same actions as the other half of the photos got before this issue arrose.

hmm, an odd test, that might accomplish nothing, but...

  1. In LrC, export the desired photo to a TIFF file with the LrC edits. Place it in the same folder as the original (assuming that is where your desired edit in PS would have done)
  2. Optional close LrC
  3. Open PS. (no, not an edit in PS)
  4. In Ps, open that new photo, accomplish the desired edit.
  5. In PS accomplish a save. Any issue?

Point being to see if the problem does not originate with PS

And another potential issue, folder rights.

Try resetting the LrC preferences. If you have changed some values in preferences, you will have to change those back after restarting LrC. Also, the preferences do not get reset when you reinstall the app.
