Lightroomers,
I had a problem downloading images to LRC with an incomplete download at first. I reloaded the images and the ones missing from the first load then appear but there was a ? that appeared over the folder. I cannot use the images at this point. I have tried to find them but without success.
Can I reload the images to a different area on the drive or will they not download because they are already on the drive but unusable?
I use Windows 10 and LRC v12.
Thank you,

Explain what you are attempting to achieve, you state downloading images. Are you referring to importing images to your Lightroom Classic Catalog file?

I am trying to either liberate the images that are trapped in the LRC library / develop module or to beable to import the images again to another place on the hard drive.

To remove images from the catalog, select them in Library and press Delete.
Then choose Remove from Lightroom in the dialog that follows.
Importing images twice is not recommended, it will lead to confusion and problems later.
Always keep Do not import suspected duplicates checked in the import dialog.

Hello Per Berntsen,
I don't know if you read a reply to another response but the problem seems to have resolved itself. Somehow I am now able to move the images into PS and email them as if nothing ever happened. I learned from these exchanges but why the problem disappeared I may never know.
Thanks,
