I have been using Lightroom Classic and have had the firmware update for a few years, 2 days ago, I could not import photos (Raw and JPG) to Lightroom Classic, there was a dialog box pop-up showing (Can not import photos into the intended file). I did not change the settings of My Lightroom Classic, I used the same SD card and CFA Card. Three days ago, everything was OK.

Today, I uninstalled and reinstall the LRC, however, the situation remains the same. Later, I imported the same photos into  Lightroom.  It is OK and Lightroom can modify the photos.Someone Please help !

Thank you in advance for your prompt reply.

"Can not import photos into the intended file" was probably "Can not import photos into the intended folder" and would simply mean that you selected a destination folder that is off limits to Lightroom. Uninstalling and reinstalling Lightroom would have been totally unnecessary, and cannot avoid that you can make the same mistake and select a destination folder that Lightroom has no permissions to write to.

Thanks for your reply.

I have created a backup file on 2021 and never have any issues with it.

I would be happy to help clarify the reasons to you. A few days ago, I attempted to transfer the RAW files form my CFA card to Lightroom classic using a card reader. However, I noticed that our of the 85 photos, 20 of them had turned black and were unable to be imported into Lightroom classic. A dialog box popped up as shown in the attached screenshot. As a solution, I tried to import the remaining 85 JPG photos from a backup V90 card, which were successfully imported into Lightroom Classic.

The problem worsened the next day when I was unable to import any files, including both RAW and JPG files into Lightroom classic. Same dialog box popped up again.

Thanks again for your reply.

We need to see a screenshot from the import dialog, not from the resulting error dialog. It would also be useful if you temporarily switched Lightroom Classic to English, so we can actually read what the dialog says.

No image appears, and the request was not for the error message, but a request for a screen capture of the Import dialog box.

Sigh. Again, this is the error message. We want to see the import dialog. That is the dialog before this one came up as a result of pressing the import button.

Looks like you are trying to write to a folder at the root of the C drive. I'm not a Windows expert, so I leave it to others to confirm this, but I think Lightroom does not have permissions to write to such a folder. You should store your images in a folder that is inside your Home folder (or on an external drive).

Your are right. I changed the folder and the problem has been solved.

LrC on Windows 10 has no problems writing to a root level folder on C: , at least not on my computer.

This includes the catalog folder as well as image folders.

But I am the administrator, and regular users may not have those rights by default, not sure.

"... beacuse it is not writeable"

This was not mentioned in your earlier posts, and it is always helpful for you to provide the ENTIRE error message, word-for-word, unedited. Your destination folder does not have write permission in your operating system. YOu need to go into your operating system and change the permissions on this specific folder (not permissions on the disk) so that you now have write permission.
