mask and lens blur changes not being saved

New Here ,
Oct 15, 2024 Oct 15, 2024

I'm making masking and lens blur modifications to photos and they are not being saved, even within the same editing session. I get a message that AI mask changes and blur settings need to be updated. I click the update buttons and move on to the next image but when I return to the first image, the updates have not been saved. Very frustrating! Suggestions?

Hi, Coreylevenson. Welcome to the Lightroom Classic Community.

We're sorry for the trouble. We need more details to help you. What version of Lightroom Classic and macOS are you using? Does this happen when you work on specific files? Where did you keep your catalog? Would you mind sharing the video recording of the issue?

In the same folder where your catalog is kept, a separate file should exist that keeps the AI masks, it will have the name syntax of "catalogname.lrcat-data ". A permission issue may have been created, or it may have been corrupted. You might try closing Lightroom Classic and then renaming or moving that file. Then restart Lightroom Classic. All AI masks will need to be updated.

To update all AI masks, select Photo > Develop Settings > Update AI Settings.

Please try if it helps to reset the preferences, as this is known to help with various issues:

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,
