With GPU disabled, Lightroom uses about 6GB. With GPU enabled LRC consumes all available memory in a 32GB system and eventually stops responding and then crashes. When LRC stops responding, Process Explorer shows the process "suspended"... after a few minutes in this state, LRC crashes.

Interesting.... I updated from AMD's download site a few days ago, but when checking just now I saw there's an even more recent version. So I updated again, and re-enabled GPU in LR... and it seems to be working without the memory leak.
If I browse through a bunch of images in Develop mode, memory usage climbs to 11GB, but drops back to 6GB within seconds of stopping keyboard/mouse interaction. I'll keep watch on it and post updates in a few days... this looks very promising.

From past posts and information on AMD's own forum (see link below), the Photoshop and Lightroom crash issue with the AMD Radeon 780M appears to be be driver related. It would also seem from one of the posts on below linked thread that responsability for providing the driver lies with the laptop vendor.
I've seen references to drivers dated 2024, which is newer than yours, but have no way of checking whether they fix the issue. Have you checked for a more recent driver?

If I browse through a bunch of images in Develop mode, memory usage climbs to 11GB, but drops back to 6GB within seconds of stopping keyboard/mouse interaction. I'll keep watch on it and post updates in a few days... this looks very promising.

Are you referring to the memory exhaustion problem I described in my original post (see above), or what I described in my most recent post showing that the latest driver version seems to have fixed the problem?
