I'm using Migration Assistant to move all the date from a 2015 iMac to a new M1 iMac. I've read that if I uninstall Adobe Lightroom and then re-install it on the new computer I'll get an 'optimized' version that is native to the new M1 chip. Has anyone done this? Adobe just told me that I won't need to un-install the current version running on my old Intel Mac, but installing a new version is a good idea because the old version my not function as well.

You read wrong. There is only one version. Lightroom is always 'optimized' for the M1, because it contains binaries for both Intel and M1 processors.

Select LrC in the Applications folder, then use 'Get Info' to check that 'Open using Rosetta' is unchecked.
