mobile download lr data icon

Not sure what happened but somehow I had to resync lightroom into LRC  and now it is very slow and don't have any space left on my macbook . I see  the mobile download lrdata is 248 GB.. Need help how to move my pics or get rid of that icon.. And I can't open the mac photos anymore.

That folder is where Lightroom Classic stores all the photos downloaded from the cloud, basically the ones you took with your phone. In the Folder panel, it appears as a separate device, similar to an extra hard drive.
You can change the location for new photos in Lightroom Classic’s preferences, but that won’t move the existing ones. To relocate those, use drag and drop within Lightroom, just like moving any other photo. Don’t delete the folder right away, because that would remove the originals. Once you’ve moved the photos and updated the location, then it’s safe to delete.
This folder only contains the original files, not edits (those are in the catalog) or previews (those are stored elsewhere).
