Have already moved catalogs... just the app is the problem. My current version is LC 6.14 and it looks like I am several updates behind as there is at least a 13.1 out there. Where can I dowmload the current version of LC?
If your current Lightroom is 6.14, there are no updates. However, you can download the installer from https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/lightroom-6-end-of-support.html

The only way you can get Lightroom Classic 13.1 is to subscribe to the Adobe Photography Plan (not the Lightroom Plan) for $9.99/month US Dollars (this is an annual subscription, you will be charged a penalty to cancel before the year is ended)

And it's hugely more demanding of computer hardware - it might be too much for a computer that can run Lr 6 happily enough: and perhaps even for a new machine, if it hasn't been specced with Lr 13 in mind.
Just something for the OP to be aware of.
