This is also causing problems with editing title and caption. I’m getting data from previous photo overwriting data in new photo IF I am in grid mode.
Seems that whatever I do in grid mode applies to the previous photo I worked on in loupe view.
Whatever photo I was last on in Loupe mode is the target of whatever I do when back into grid mode.
I have closed down Lightroom and saved, tested and optimized the catalog, but it still happens.
Thanks for any help.

Try resetting the preferences.
See https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/reset-preferences.html
Method 3 is the easiest.

Thanks. I did the reset and have played around a bit. I have NOT been able to reproduce the issue yet, but I do recall that it seemed to not occur after a relaunch for a bit. So I will continue to work and see if it has truly cleared up. I appreciate the help.

Seems to be working fine. I'd have never guessed that the prefernces would affect that. Thanks.

The preferences file gets written to a lot when you use LrC, which I imagine makes it prone to corruption.
An incorrect shutdown or freeze or crash can also cause corruption.
Corrupted preferences can lead to all sorts of weird behavior.
