You are in the Library module, otherwise you would not see folders in the left panel.

Or the OP is looking at, has open, the Import dialog and not seeing all the subfolders on their external.
It could be the PATH is so long that the width of the left hand Files section under Source isn't wide enough to show all of them.
I don't see a way to Expand that section.
In that case just select the Top Level folder and have "Include Subfolders" checked and check "Don't Import Suspected Duplicates" and have "New Photos" selected at the top of the main, center, section.

You'll have to post some screenshots to illustrate the problem.

So you moved the photos from one hard drive to another at some time? Do I understand that properly? (You didn't say anything about this in your original message) Do you see question mark icons on any of the photos?

Only drives and folder that you have actually imported images from show up in the Folders section of the Library module.
So if you have 50 folders on any drive and you have only imported images from 20 of those folders just those 20 folders will be listed in that section. The other 30 LR has no knowledge of because you haven't imported any images from them.
As stated above please post a screen shot.

The problem solved. I searched my drives with a question mark (on a wrong drive) and merged it to the current existing drive and the problem solved. Now I can see all the folders.

First, let's make sure you have done the obvious simple things. Have you scrolled all the way down to the bottom of the Folder list and still don't see them?
Is this a Windows operating system? Do have have around 1600 or more folders? There is a bug in Windows that prevents lists of folders from showing more than around 1600 folders. Have you tried collapsing some of the parent folders? This will allow more folders to be displayed.
No matter what your answers are, importing again will not solve the problem, it will just make it worse. DO NOT IMPORT! DO NOT IMPORT!
Lastly, what is the version NUMBER of your Lightroom (please go to Help->System Info) and report the Lightroom version NUMBER shown there. Do not copy and paste the entire Help->System Info dialog box here. Do not use words like "latest" or "up-to-date".

I have a similar problem. I have an external drive with folders for photos taken in 2022 and 2023. Lightroom Classic version 12.4 shows the folder for 2023, which I have accessed recently, but not the 2022 folder. I want to work on a photo from 2022. I have one subfolder per day and maybe one below that, so I have less than 730 folders within each of those. Even with a few other strays I am well short of 1600 on the drive.

You’ve posted to a very old thread. It is highly unlikely that the issue described in this thread, though not impossible, is the same issue which you are currently experiencing. Rather than resurrect an old thread that is seemingly similar, you are better posting to a new thread with fresh, complete information including system information, a complete description of the problem and step-by-step instructions for reproduction.
In the unlikely event the issue is the same, we will merge you back into the appropriate location.
Thank you!
