My update dng preview & metadata does not work anymore. How do I fix it

More details please.

"update DNG preview"  Do you mean the preview in Lightroom Library view?

"metadata"  Are you 'Saving' metadata to files?

"does not work"  Please explain. Any error messages?

LR v11.0.1

after adjusting raw photo in Develop I tried to save adjustment under Photo-Update DNG preview & Metadata.

The " Update DNG preview & Metadata is not bold black like it normally is. So cant save adjustments.

It is working for me!  LrC v11.0.1

My example-

1) Apply a B&W Develop to a DNG image. 

-In the Library GRID the thumbnail Preview is updated.

-The WINDOWS File Explorer view of the DNG remains showing the raw image.

2) Select the image in LrC Grid View and  go MENU: Metadata > Update DNG Preview and Metadata.

The LrC Grid view (as B&W) does not need to change and it shouldn't.

The WINDOWS File Explorer view does update and show the new embedded B&W Preview in the DNG.

If this is not working the same for you, then perhaps a Reset of your Preferences file may help.

The Menu option Update DNG Preview and Metadata will be grey if you are NOT editing a DNG-type file!
