The new update hangs, just showing the hints. I neither want, nor care about the hints, so why are they part of the update???
Furthermore, as the only option is to close with the Task manager, I'm stuck.
Also, despite paying Adobe £700 per year, every year, we are unable to express any annoyance whatsoever, and our posts are deleted. I expect help, not self-importance and over zealous reactions.

Hi @AARDVARK7
Thanks for reaching out, and I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you’re facing after the update — that definitely shouldn’t be the experience. To help us understand this better, could you please share a few more details:
Could you share a screenshot of the screen where it gets stuck? (specifically the "Hints" screen you mentioned)
Have you tried resetting Lightroom preferences to see if that resolves the issue? If not, try the manual method after creating a backup of the folders. Steps are shared here: https://adobe.ly/47HDVOu
Regards,
Srishti

The main problem is that Adobe launch updates without fully testing, expecting users to resolve any problems for them. Despite making hundreds of millions in profit, the support consists of these 'self-help' forums, rather than having knowledgeable support staff. Further, the solutions offered only ever amount to those that you have just given.
It was always something of a joke that the only solution any IT support offered was to turn off the computer and turn it on again. It seems nothing has changed, it wasn't funny then, and it's not funny now.
To be specific with this issue, the 'hint' showing just how wonderful the culling will be remained on the centre of the screen, wouldn't close, and barred any other input. I've fixed it myself, again, and will simply reconfirm that Adobe needs to get rid of the automatic hints and 'what's new' claptrap with every update. Clearly, you are spending far to much time and effort on useless junk like that, rather than useful testing. Given that we have to fix the issues ourselves, we are more than capable of looking into what new features are available if we wish to do so.
