Nikon Z7 doesn't focus on tethered mode

When I'm using tethered mode in Lightroom classic with my Nikon Z7 the camera takes the shot immediately without focusing. The camera firmware is the latest revision and I have a CC subscription so Lightroom is latest update too.  Running on Windows 10 21H1

Any suggestions?

What are your shutter-release settings on in the camera menu? Have you changed it to AFS so that the shutter-release will not shoot unless the subject is in focus?
