No Preview Available For This File - Importing Raw files to LRC using iMac

When I import onto my iMac Raw Photos from my memory card into Lightroom I get all the files greyed out with the message "Preview Unavailable For This File" . They will import properly but it's difficult to sort if I have several different subjects/folders that I'm importing. I have tried importing from the card onto other computers and it worked fine. Has anyone else had this persistent problem?

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs.

There should be two places where you can select the memory card in the left hand panel. Try the other one from the one you normally use.
