I have uploaded over 100k images over the years using LR classic and my card readers and CR2 files. As of last week LR shows the card reader and the card but produces not images to upload. I run windows 10, and have made no software changes except for the upload of v15.0.1. I'm not talking about syncing with the cloud or across any additional apps. I just can't upload my images. I know they are there, as I can see them on explorer, so the card isn't corrupted. This has not happened with SD and CF cards. Additionally my friend reports he is also unable to upload CR2 images through bridge/camera raw. Help?
I thank all for your help. My images are now uploading, though I've made no changes and I don't understand why. However, I'm happy that I can, once more, upload and catalog my images.

Edit: this HAS happened with both my CF and SD cards and with two different card readers as well as the camera itself. LR recognizes the device but no images show up to import.

Hi @pa57ul, welcome to the community!
Sorry to hear you’re having trouble importing your photos. Does this only happen with CR2 files?
For some users, uninstalling and reinstalling the app has resolved similar issues, so that might be worth trying first.
If that doesn’t help, could you share a screenshot showing the full import window? That’ll give us a better idea of what’s going on.
Thanks so much!
Alek

No screenshot. Please follow the instructions to include your screen capture in your reply that I gave in my previous post. (Also, screen captures should not be .DNG, but probably are .JPG or .GIF or .PNG)
Also when you talk about "upload" do you really mean "import"?

Just resent the screenshot again with insert photo. Also, all importating is stopped. I tried JPG and DNG files previously downloaded to other portable drives as an experiment and no import is allowed.

@pa57ul Open your Destination panel and confirm you have selected a folder or location for the files. Sometimes changing this destination folder (and changing it back) can help.
And why do you have the thumbnail slider set to 'huge'- Set it much smaller for the import previews.

@Rob_Cullen , Although I have never had to select a destination prior to uploading my files, I did specify a destination and change it on your advice without any change in ability to upload images. Thank you, though.

Please show us a screen capture of the Import dialog box after you made this change.

In your screen-clip I see that you are importing to the [Q] drive- does the folder destination have write permissions? Is this folder suitable named (without full-stops or forward slashes. ie. Alpha-numeric only.)
An you have not yet illustrated your Destination panel details-
"I have never had to select a destination" Well yes you have. You must have set a destination at some time in the past, and it has become your 'default' import location (Or you use an Import Preset). Any 'Copy', 'Copy as DNG' or 'Move' import process requires a Destination.

Your latest screen capture does not show the changes you claim to have made. It shows the Destination Panel still collapsed. It would help to see the Import dialog box with the Destination panel expanded.

I deleted my reply as it was just so so wrong.

Not able to import any files, CR2, jpeg or DNG. Not from existing harddrives, card readers or the camera itself. Screen shot below, no error messages seen. Reading device seen, but not the files on the reader. Was able to import the first week of November without issue. This was the next time I attempted to upload images. I have uninstalled and reinstalled LR. My friend, who also shoots Canon (CR2) also can't seem to upload in camera raw.

Similar results here as well: I wonder if LR has been corrupted by updates? Downloading LR version 3 and doing the upgrades to LR 15 has made me realize that I have created a junk yard. My next step is to try a screen share with a YOUNG computer literate photographer who I gifted my old camera to. Whatever I learn I will share here. Long live Adobe Lightroom Classic.

@ted trimmer Do you mean Lightroom 3 from 2010- really?
Post to a new thread with more of your details from the LrC v15 Menu > Help > System Info... and 'INSERT' any screen-clips of yourwhole import dialog window and any error messages you might see.
