Older MacOS compatability with 2023 Lightroom Classic CC

Hi,

I no longer have my .edu email address and must sign up for a personal CC account. I'm interested in  Lightroom Classic (10.4 which I currently run) and PS. My MacOS is Mojave 10.14.6 and the Adobe apps I run work just fine.

My question: if I subscribe to CC, can I stay with my current ver. of Lightroom Classic or am I forced to upgrade my OS to a later version? I realize I won't receive updates to my version of LR and am missing out on the newer features by staying behind on the OS, but can I make it still work?

I'm confused, you have Lightroom Classic 10.4, which is part of the Creative Cloud, then you say "if I subscribe to CC". What do you mean?

Sorry, I mean when I subscribe as a new, non-enterprise account person.

This is the document on system requirements for LrC v12:

and for LrC v10:

So, with MACOS v10.14, you will not be able to install post v10 LrC.

In addition to what @GoldingD  indicated you will need to subscribe to the Adobe Photography Plan which includes Photoshop / Bridge/ Camera Raw, Lightroom Classic and the Lightroom ecosystem applications. After you have created your new Adobe ID then Login to Creative Cloud Desktop application.

You should then be able to boot LrC and open your existing Catalog.

If you want to keep using it with the new subscription, you should keep that Lightroom Classic 10 on your Mac and not delete it as long as you use this Mac. I think it would work like this: You won’t be forced to uninstall Lightroom Classic 10 and don’t have to change anything about your configuration. I think all you have to do is sign out of your enterprise subscription (any installed Creative Cloud apps stop working at that point), then sign in with your new subscription (so those Creative Cloud apps start working again).

You should maintain the Mac properly (maintenance, backups) to keep it reliable, so that it doesn’t end up in a situation where you ever have to reinstall Lightroom Classic 10 or any other now unsupported Creative Cloud apps. You won’t be able to reinstall them on this Mac using the Creative Cloud installer, because of the version availability that others have covered: Adobe provides installation for only the last two major versions, Lightroom Classic 12 and 11, and together they support only the last four major versions of macOS, which are currently macOS 10.15, 11, 12, and 13.
